Where is APE Divers Academy located in Cancun?

APE Divers Academy is based in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico, and conducts dives in Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, and the cenotes of the Riviera Maya.

Which areas do you dive?

We dive the reefs of Cancun, Puerto Morelos, and Isla Mujeres, as well as the cenotes of the Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen, and Cozumel.

Do you operate year-round?


Yes. We offer diving and SDI and TDI courses year-round in Cancun and the Riviera Maya, subject to weather conditions.

What languages are the courses taught in?

We teach diving courses in Spanish and English.

Which training agencies do you use?

We work with SDI and TDI, leading international agencies in recreational and technical diving.

Is it safe to dive in Cancun and the cenotes?

2. RECREATIONAL COURSES

Do I need prior experience for Scuba Discovery?

No. SDI Discover Scuba Diving is designed for beginners.

What is the minimum age to dive?

Generally from age 10, with parental consent.

How long does the SDI Open Water Diver course take?

Between 3 and 4 days, including theory, pool sessions, and ocean or cenote dives.

Does the course include equipment?


Yes, full equipment is included in recreational courses.

How many dives are completed?

Typically 4 to 6 in Open Water.

What happens if I don't pass a part of the course?

You can repeat sessions until you meet SDI standards.

Will I receive an international certification?

Yes, an SDI or TDI certification valid worldwide.
