GOALS
An enrolled student will have the opportunity to learn and practice new skills in controlled environments with the oversight of the instructor, Daniel Gonzalez Cardona.
Successful completion of each part of the course is solely dependent on the student’s performance and mentality. A full cave will require a minimum of 10 days to complete, and potentially more days will be required if a student also needs to complete prerequisite courses such as TDI Sidemount.
METHODOLOGY
Daniel’s courses are structured to allow a steady progression through the course without overwhelming the students with too many new tasks assigned each day. The nature of this course is difficult and as such the expected standard to pass will reflect this. Each student will have a different learning style and may learn certain skills faster than others, and the flow of the course will change as students progress depending on the time required to master all skills.
Daniels motto is “Keep It Simple” and his laid-back demeanor may be an abrupt change in speed for those who are used to a fast-paced learning or working environment. Regardless, the mentality with which Daniel approaches cave diving is as important as the physical skills themselves. Therefore, be prepared for full days of learning but also time throughout the day to slow down and really focus on the tasks at hand (and even enjoy the environment as well). Cave diving should not be a rushed activity, and neither should the course.
